Description
St. Marys 30kg Type S Masonry Cement.
Features
- St Marys Masonry Cement is a hydraulic cement produced specifically for use in mortar for unit masonry construction.
- lntergrinding of portland cement clinker with plasticizers in the production of St Marys Masonry Cement provides excellent plasticity, water retentivity and air-entrainment.
- An adequate level of air entrainment enhances the important hardened property of mortar - durability, which is so important in the freeze-thaw climate of the Great Lakes region.
- St Marys Masonry Cements meets the requirements of ASTM Standard C91 ñStandard Specification for Masonry Cement.î
- It also meets the requirements of the following building codes: ACI530.95,
- IBC 2000, MBC 2000 and MRC 2000.
- Masonry cement mortars may be specified by either the proportion or property method of ASTM C270 ñStandard Specification for Mortar for Unit Masonryî.
- Under Table 1 ñProportion Specification Requirementsî (A), Type N mortar is specified as 1 part Type N masonry cement to 2 1/4 to 3 parts aggregate (sand). Type S and M mortars are specified the same way.
- Alternatively, mortars may be specified by property requirements as in Table 2 (B), a laboratory prepared Type N mortar must meet 7 50 psi in compressive strength to meet the standard.
- Similarly Type S must meet 1800 psi and Type M must meet 2500 psi.
- Appendix XI.1 of ASTM C270 provides a nonmandatory guide for the selection of masonry mortars for various locations and building segments.
- Selection of mortar type should also be based on the type of masonry units to be used as well as the applicable building code and engineering practice standard requirements, such as allowable design stresses and lateral support.
- 30 kg bag
- 45 bags per skid
